Regenerated detail is invented detail. Text and logos inside an image often come back malformed, faces can shift subtly, and pixel art loses its grid — a generative upscale is the wrong tool for pixel art, where nearest-neighbour scaling is what you want. Push the strength too high and the result stops matching the rest of your art. Output is capped at 7 megapixels, so a very large source gains less than a small one.
Sharpening exaggerates the edges already present; this redraws the content, so a blurry sprite gains detail it never had rather than harder-edged blur.
